Political philosophies are only as strong as the logic upon which they are built. That may seem obvious to anyone reading this, but all too often, the meat of a political ideology is set upon the bones of emotion, and passion, thus compromising its integrity. If logic and reason are the bones, empathy and human understanding are the muscles. They work in tandem, but only function properly if reason underlies emotion.
We don’t understand each other. Conservatives and liberals don’t see eye to eye because liberals operate under a false understanding of the way things work. This warped understanding of the world leads to a warped policy. For instance, gun control.
