If anyone wanted to pick a time and place where the political left’s avowed concern for minorities was definitively exposed as a fraud, it would be now — and the place would be New York City, where far left Mayor Bill de Blasio has launched an attack on charter schools, cutting their funding, among other things.
These schools have given thousands of low income minority children their only shot at a decent education, which often means their only shot at a decent life. Last year 82 percent of the students at a charter school called Success Academy passed city-wide mathematics exams, compared to 30 percent of the students in the city as a whole.
Why would anybody who has any concern at all about minority young people — or even common decency — want to destroy what progress has already been made?

On the morning of Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, the villagers of Mubende District, Uganda were in church when they heard the sound of gunfire. They came out to find men torching their homes and crops. The soldiers held them off at gunpoint from rescuing their homes; one 8-year-old child was trapped and died in the fire. The soldiers then marched off the 20,000 farmers from the land that had been in their families for generations. The reason for the violence was that a forestry project financed by the World Bank wanted the land.

Bean Salad

This salad is easy to make, cost effective and extremely healthy. It is high in protein, iron, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B-6 and calcium. This is a perfect salad to bring for grab and go lunches!


  • 1 can kidney beans (rinsed)
  • 1 can chick peas (rinsed)
  • 3 tbs olive oil (or till the salad is coated)
  • ½ tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tbs red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbs balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbs unpasteurized honey
  • 1 green onion chopped
  • 2 tsp of garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 2 tsp of vegetable seasoning, or variety of fresh herbs (oregano, rosemary)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1: Rinse the chick peas and kidney beans in the sink.

Step 2: Find a large mixing bowl. Pour the peas and beans into the bowl and mix them up!
