I love Marbling! I love the concept! Especially when I was young and you got to marble and dye white t shirts in school! I find it fascinating when you cut through a marble cake where all the vanilla and chocolate sponge is entwined into one another.

So I used this marbling technique to make some chocolate bark for Diwali and the new year we celebrate. I couldn’t go without making something sweet like this for my first diwali post.

My little one was extremely eagar to help me?!! I wonder why? He sat on the work surface and watched tentatively at the whole bark making process. The only thing he had his eye on, was the shiny silver spoon smothered in melted chocolate! I gave in and he enjoyed licking the spoon clean!

Ps ~ If he wasn’t there I would have done the same lol!

The Wyoming House allowed the introduction of HB 97 on a 47-13 vote.  This is significant because they are currently in an appropriations session.  Any non-appropriations bill needs a 2/3 majority vote in order to be introduced during these short 20-day sessions.

This bill introduced by State Representative Tom Reeder (R-Casper) is, in my opinion, a very strong bill.

Federal Judge Strikes Down Virginia’s Ban on Gay Marriage.

A federal judge struck down Virginia’s ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional late on Thursday, saying it denied gay couples a fundamental freedom to marry.

The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Arenda Wright Allen in Norfolk, Virginia, added momentum to growing acceptance of gay marriage in the United States.

Allen said Virginia’s constitutional ban on same-sex marriage violated the right to due process and equal protection of the law under the U.S. Constitution. However, she stayed execution of her order striking down the ban pending an appeal to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

“The Court is compelled to conclude that Virginia’s Marriage Laws unconstitutionally deny Virginia’s gay and lesbian citizens the fundamental freedom to choose to marry,” Allen, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, wrote in her 41-page opinion.

She ordered submission of a proposed final order by March 14.

Most cooks and those that prepare oven roasted chicken will use lemon, but I have chosen to use an orange.

1 whole roasting chicken, approximately 4-5 pounds

1 large yellow onion or 2 medium, cut into uniformly thick slices

1 whole orange, cut into quarters

8-10 cloves garlic, crushed and skins removed

4 tablespoons butter, cut into slices

2 sprigs fresh rosemary leaves removed and chopped, plus 3 whole sprigs
